We welcome the opportunity to introduce small groups of interested people to The Parish of St. Mark by offering pre-arranged, private guided tours of our magnificent church home. We invite you to inquire on behalf of your specific group’s interests about scheduling a tour.
Our church is located in the heart of bustling northwest Portland on the corner of NW 21st and Marshall. The brick church building was built in 1925 and is the third building to house our Parish which dates back 100 years. It has a stunningly beautiful interior with fine art paintings, sacred statuary and icons, and a baptismal font dating back to 1888. A splendid modern German tracker-action organ made by the Werner Bosch firm of Kassell, Germany, was installed in 1966 at the back of the Nave where the organ pipes frame the great Rose Window. The clerestory windows of stained glass surrounding the church represent the Seven Sacraments and depict the religious work of the church apostles and saints. To learn more about St. Mark’s, refer to Our Parish History.
We can offer information to your group on the history of our church building and its art and architecture and/or the history and current status of our religious beliefs of our traditional Anglican faith. Depending on our schedule, we may be able to offer you a meeting room in our Parish Hall, located adjacent to the sanctuary, for your group to meet preceding or following a scheduled tour.
