Father Charles Hart III, Rector
Fr. Hart was born and raised in Portland. (Perhaps most telling was that he was born on Palm Sunday in Good Samaritan Hospital!) He was raised on the Eastside, attending a United Methodist congregation and attending schools in the Centennial School District. Fr. Hart started attending St. Mark in high school and was confirmed at the parish. He studied political science at Carroll College in Helena, Montana. After graduation he returned to the Portland area where he worked in the title insurance industry for ten years before going to seminary at Nashotah House in Wisconsin. After seminary, Fr. Hart did his curacy at All Saints Anglican Church in Fountain Valley, California. From there he moved to Washington, DC, where he studied law at The Catholic University of America and served the Parish of Christ the King. For the last six years Fr. Hart has taught Latin and history at a classical Roman Catholic school in Wisconsin, while assisting at Holy Apostles Anglican Church and St. John Anglican Catholic Church. Fr. Hart and Danielle have been married for over 20 years, and they have two children: Charles is 20 and Elizabeth is 12. They also share their home with a black cat named Obsidian and an American Toad named Gus.
