St. Mark’s works in conjunction with a number of neighboring businesses and service organizations in our community in a wide range of programs and activities. Whether it be to share resources, participate in neighborhood clean-up projects, conduct food and clothing drives, or invite area businesses and residents to the church, we strive to be a welcoming and cooperative partner with all our neighbors. Over the years we have participated along with other area faith organizations to support the programs of our neighbors — Friendly House, a nonprofit community center and social service agency; LIFT UP, whose mission is to reduce hunger and improve the lives of residents in Northwest and Downtown Portland; William Temple House through their offering of food, counseling, clothing, utility assistance, and spiritual care to our NW neighbors. We participate in the Slabtown Community Festival and have partnered with New Seasons Market, Dove Lewis Emergency Animal hospital, Pro Photo Supply and Fleet Feet running store on a variety of activities.
If you are interested in getting involved with us in any of our community outreach programs, please contact Father Hart, rector@stmarkportland.org.
